2. Hotel Fauchere, Milford

This is one of the few 4-star hotels in the Poconos. They pay attention to detail, considering it fundamental to the art of hospitality. Located in Milford, an hour and a half by car from New York City, this boutique hotel is housed in a historic building lovingly restored with modern materials that has not lost the charm of a 19th-century hotel.
