A shark attacks tourist in Egypt again: She lost an arm. Video
A shark attacked a human in Egypt again. This time it happened in the resort of Dahab, about 100 km from Sharm el-Sheikh. The shark bit off the woman's left arm up to the shoulder, but the victim managed to reach the shore and was saved.
34-year-old Zeinab Ahmed Mohammed was swimming near a popular resort beach on the Red Sea in the southern Sinai Peninsula. It was there that she was attacked by a shark, The National News reports.
Zainab Ahmed Mohamed fought off the shark and got out of the water. Security guards at the nearest hotel provided her with first aid, so she did not die of blood loss.
Doctors in the neighboring city of Sharm el-Sheikh, where the victim is hospitalized, said that the shark bit off her entire left arm. The woman is now in stable condition.
The beach is currently closed. Local authorities have banned swimming, scuba diving and other water sports on several beaches in Dahab pending the outcome of the investigation.
