Tucked away in the South Caucasus, Armenia, a country with a rich past, offers breathtaking scenery and a dynamic culture waiting to be discovered. Armenia's main tourist attractions include ancient monasteries, incredibly beautiful mountains, and delicious Caucasian cuisine.

For those ready to venture off the beaten path, Armenia provides a wealth of experiences, even if it's not the first destination that comes to mind when planning a trip. Newsbytesapp.com highlights interesting places to visit in this colorful country.

Go skiing in Tsakhkadzor

Situated just a short drive from the Armenian capital, Yerevan, Tsaghkadzor is an exhilarating paradise for skiing enthusiasts. Known as a major tourist center for skiing and snowboarding, Tsaghkadzor boasts several well-equipped ski stations.

A ski lift connects the stations, and a picturesque cable car offers unparalleled views from the top, adding a touch of awe to the overall experience.

Soar on the Wings of Tatev

At an altitude of approximately 5,750 meters, the Wings of Tatev is considered the longest reversible cable car in the world. The entire journey across the Vorotan River Valley takes about twelve incredible minutes. This is the most dramatic, fastest, and shortest way to reach the Tatev Monastery.

Fly over the Vorotan Gorge and enjoy breathtaking views from 320 meters above the ground while riding a cable car.

Visit the cave village of Old Hndzoresk

The Hndzoresk Cave Village is the largest network of natural and artificial caves. It is located on a hillside, next to several churches and three schools.

This ancient settlement, carved into the soft volcanic rock, offers insight into a way of life that dates back centuries. The village was inhabited until the mid-20th century and showcases the unique architecture of the region.

Climb the Cascade

Witness Yerevan's monument to the Soviet Union's victory in World War II by climbing the Cascade. As you ascend the 572 steps, you'll enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the city and the snow-capped peaks of Mount Ararat in the distance.

The cascade consists of several levels connected by a majestic staircase and adorned with modernist sculptures and fountains.
