Air Malta has announced its new rules regarding the transportation of personal baggage
The Maltese airline Air Malta has gained favor among customers because of its low fares and ticket prices. It allowed passengers to carry a 10-kilogram suitcase along with a personal bag. However, Air Malta has now changed its rules.
From now on, passengers flying on the cheapest fares will only be able to carry small hand luggage into the cabin. The new rules will be effective from March 2024, as reported by the company's official Facebook page.
Air Malta, headquartered in the city of Luqa, connects Malta with the UK, operating flights to and from London Heathrow Airport. However, next year, Air Malta will be replaced by a new airline, KM Malta.
The carrier offers passengers four economy fares to choose from. Among them are two more expensive options where you can carry hand luggage for free, and two cheaper fares where you can only take 2 kilograms of baggage on board. Economy passengers can also check in additional baggage (weighing 10 kilograms), but they cannot take it with them.
If you are planning to travel with KM Malta, you can already book your tickets. In the first week alone, the airline has already received more than 120 thousand bookings for the summer of 2024.
KM Malta will operate from March 31 to October 26, and the airline will serve 17 airports in 15 European cities. In addition to London, KM Malta will also fly to other popular cities, including Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Lyon, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Paris Orly, Prague, Rome, Vienna, and Zurich.
