Air New Zealand Resumes Seasonal Flights to Sunshine Coast
Air New Zealand has announced the return of its seasonal service to the Sunshine Coast, starting on 26 June 2024. The flights will operate three times a week on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, providing Kiwis a quick escape from the winter chill to the warmth of Australia until October 2024.
The direct flight between Auckland and Maroochydore takes just four hours, allowing travelers to arrive and enjoy the beach by lunchtime. This service offers a convenient and quick getaway for New Zealanders seeking a sunny holiday.
Air New Zealand General Manager International, Jeremy O'Brien, expressed the airline's enthusiasm about resuming the seasonal service. He noted the high demand for bookings to the Sunshine Coast, emphasizing the destination's appeal with its relaxed beachside culture, excellent food, stunning scenery, and consistent sunshine.
Customers flying to the Sunshine Coast will also benefit from Air New Zealand's new "Seats to Suit" offering on international short-haul flights, which includes free movies and entertainment, snacks, and flexible travel options. This enhancement aims to provide a more enjoyable travel experience for passengers.
Over the winter season, Air New Zealand operates flights to seven other Australian destinations: Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Cairns, and the Gold Coast. The airline considers Australia a crucial market and sees the seasonal service as an opportunity for Australians to visit New Zealand for its winter attractions.
The Auckland-Sunshine Coast service will run from 26 June to 25 October 2024, using the Airbus 320neo aircraft, enhancing travel options for both Kiwis and Aussies during the winter months.
