Air Serbia and Etihad are launching a new codeshare to expand connectivity in Europe
Air Serbia and Etihad Airways have entered into a bilateral codeshare agreement to expand their connections in Europe. The new codeshare agreement will be effective for flights starting February 3.
According to the company, the agreement aims to improve connections for customers of both airlines to a number of destinations, including Athens and Thessaloniki. "The codeshare agreement simplifies travel for guests by allowing them to make a single booking and seamless check-in, as well as providing additional convenience in the form of seamless baggage transportation to their final destination," writes Greke Travel Pages.
As part of the partnership, Etihad customers have access to 12 destinations in Southeast Europe via Air Serbia's Belgrade hub, including Belgrade, Bucharest, Budapest, Thessaloniki, Tirana, Skopje, and Sofia. The nine destinations are new to Etihad's expanded network.
"We are also looking forward to warmly welcoming Air Serbia customers traveling from Europe to Abu Dhabi," said Jurrian Stelder, Etihad's Vice President, Alliances and Industry.
Air Serbia's network is now easily accessible to Etihad customers, who can connect to it through Etihad gateways in Athens, Milan, Rome, and Vienna.
"By joining forces with Etihad, we are expanding the geography of our services, offering our passengers a wider choice of destinations and connection options," said Boško Rupić, Air Serbia's Chief Commercial Officer and Strategy Officer.
Etihad Guest is a loyalty program for both airlines that allows members to earn or redeem Etihad Guest miles on Etihad Airways and Air Serbia networks, as well as enjoy the benefits of higher-tier status.
