Ajinomoto and JAL Introduce Special Menus for Paris 2024 Olympics
Ajinomoto Co., Inc. and Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. have announced a unique dining experience in support of the Japanese Olympic Team for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The "Powered by 'Kachimeshi®' TEAM JAPAN Paris 2024 Support Menus" will be available both inflight and in lounges, highlighting the collaboration between Ajinomoto Co. and JAL to boost the spirit of the upcoming games.
Starting July 1, 2024, passengers on selected international JAL flights to Japan will be able to enjoy these special menus. The inflight offerings will include dishes such as "Soft Pork Ginger" with rice cooked in tuna broth, available as an a la carte option in First and Business Class. Meanwhile, in the JAL First Class Lounges at Haneda and Narita airports, travelers can savor the "Kachimeshi®" Umami Soup Paris Special.
The special inflight menu is inspired by meals provided to the Japanese Judo team as part of Ajinomoto’s "Victory Project®," which has been supporting athletes with tailored nutrition since 2003. The meals, including dishes enjoyed by judokas like Hifumi Abe, Uta Abe, and Miku Takaichi, are designed to aid post-weight-cut recovery, making them both nutritious and delicious.
In the lounges, the Umami Soup has been crafted with the expertise of Chef TESHIMA Ryuji, who brings his Michelin-starred experience to the table. This collaboration ensures that both inflight and lounge menus not only meet the nutritional needs of athletes but also offer a gourmet experience.
These initiatives by Ajinomoto Co. and JAL are aimed at promoting the value of sports and supporting athletes as they prepare for Paris 2024. The special menus are set to be available until September 10, 2024, inflight, and until September 8, 2024, in the lounges, providing an exclusive taste of Olympic spirit to travelers.
By integrating the concept of "Kachimeshi®" into their meal offerings, Ajinomoto and JAL are fostering excitement and support for TEAM JAPAN, ensuring both athletes and travelers can enjoy a part of the Olympic journey.
