Amsterdam and Barcelona are losing popularity: new favorites among British travelers have been named
Amsterdam and Barcelona, long-time favorite vacation spots for the British, are yielding to new destinations. According to a leading travel organization, Krakow and Reykjavik will gain more popularity in 2024.
Kelly Cooks, commercial director of Advantage Travel Partnership, shared with The Independent that while Amsterdam and Barcelona remain popular, their appeal has somewhat diminished.
Krakow is gaining traction due to its affordability, while Reykjavik offers a fresh cultural experience and attractions.
Ms. Cooks also predicts that Paris will experience a surge in bookings thanks to the "Netflix effect" generated by the popular TV series Emily in Paris.
According to travel experts, the cost of package vacations for the summer of 2024 has increased significantly compared to previous years, prompting tourists to seek interesting offers at economical prices.
Julia Lo Bue-Said, CEO of Advantage Travel Partnership, stated: "Prices for traveling to Cyprus during the school holidays are skyrocketing. Spain and Greece offer great prices with a wide range of flights and accommodation options."
Additionally, the pound sterling is even stronger in Turkey, making the resort appealing to vacationers from the UK.
