Ancient church's 46-meter bell tower suddenly collapses in the USA: a woman was inside
A 46-meter-high church bell tower collapsed in the United States. It was built in the XIX century.
The incident occurred on January 25 in New London, Connecticut. The bell tower of the First Congregationalist Church fell there, USA Today reports. It was one of the main attractions of New London.
On Thursday, the spire suddenly collapsed. According to local authorities, there had been no problems with this building before.
There was a woman inside the back of the church. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries, as she miraculously survived.
The fall of the 46-meter-high church bell tower destroyed most of the church. The local authorities decided to demolish everything that remained of the landmark building. The causes of the collapse are currently under investigation.
