Avanti West Coast Expands Superfare Ticket to Additional Destinations
With the Superfare ticket now marking its first anniversary, Avanti West Coast has added ten new journey options in the West Midlands and Lake District to its already diverse range of offerings. This move comes after witnessing over 50,000 travelers seizing the opportunity to snag affordable fares on popular routes such as Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Preston, and Glasgow. Many have opted for rail travel over other modes of transportation due to the allure of these low-cost fares.
The Superfare ticket allows passengers to secure a journey for a specific date, with the flexibility to choose from morning, afternoon, or evening slots, all at a discounted rate. The exact travel time is determined by the intercity operator.
Customers who book at least 24 hours in advance will be allocated an available seat on a less crowded train, receiving their reservation details and departure time accordingly. Starting today, travelers from Rugby, Coventry, Nuneaton, Birmingham International, and Wolverhampton can journey to London for as little as £9.
Additionally, those seeking to explore the scenic beauty of the Lake District can take advantage of new Superfare options from London to Oxenholme (£26), Penrith (£26), and Carlisle (£28). Passengers traveling between Milton Keynes and Manchester (£18) or Preston and Glasgow (£12) now have the option to avail themselves of a Superfare ticket as well. Notably, the prices for existing Superfare tickets have remained unchanged since their launch.
Starting May 1, 2024, customers can secure Superfare tickets much earlier, with bookings now possible up to eight weeks in advance, allowing for greater travel planning flexibility. However, bookings must still be made at least seven days before the travel date.
