Avelo Airlines Announces Brief Suspension of Brownsville-Los Angeles Route
Avelo Airlines will temporarily halt its nonstop service between Brownsville / South Padre Island (BRO) and Los Angeles (BUR) from April 27th to May 22nd, pausing flights on a popular route that has connected South Texas with Southern California. The route's suspension is part of the airline's effort to optimize its flight schedule.
The Brownsville-Los Angeles service, which has operated twice weekly since its launch in May 2023, will resume on May 22nd, continuing with flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays. During this brief hiatus, Avelo Airlines aims to refine its operations while preparing for the summer travel season.
Brownsville City Manager Helen Ramirez acknowledged the temporary break, emphasizing that this brief pause should not disrupt the long-term benefits of the route for the Brownsville community. Avelo Airlines Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy reiterated the airline's commitment to providing affordable and reliable air travel to the South Texas region and assured passengers that the service will continue to meet their needs upon resumption.
The route's temporary suspension comes after Avelo Airlines reached a milestone of completing over 100 flights between Brownsville and Los Angeles. Despite this achievement, the airline's focus remains on providing consistent and customer-friendly service.
The pause in service will not affect other Avelo Airlines routes, including those to Orlando, Florida, and other destinations. Passengers are encouraged to visit the airline's website for the latest information on flight schedules and available promotions. Avelo Airlines remains dedicated to maintaining high service standards and minimizing disruptions during the brief break in service.
