Avelo Airlines Announces Largest Expansion with New Routes and First International Destinations
Avelo Airlines has announced the largest expansion in its history, adding 18 new direct routes. The new destinations include Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Cancun, Mexico, marking the airline's first international flights. Avelo's operational bases in Connecticut and Central Florida have also been strengthened.
New Destinations and Expanded Operations
This fall, Avelo Airlines will begin servicing 52 destinations across 23 states, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and Mexico. The new routes will be operated twice weekly with Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. As part of the expansion, the airline will station two aircraft at Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, Connecticut.
The new routes include destinations to popular cities such as Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, and Orlando, as well as international routes to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Cancun, Mexico. These flights will be operated from Bradley (BDL), Lakeland (LAL), Concord-Padgett (USA), and Wilmington (ILG) airports.
Technological Innovations
Avelo Airlines is implementing technologies to enhance the efficiency and environmental sustainability of its operations. The airline has partnered with Vortex Control Technologies (VCT) to install Finlets on its fleet of Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. These devices help reduce air resistance and lower fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
Avelo Airlines focuses on serving underserved communities and using small, convenient airports, making it an attractive choice for many travelers. The company's policy of no additional fees for online changes or cancellations, as well as free seating for children under 14 with an accompanying adult, makes travel more comfortable.
