Avelo Airlines Expands Network with 17 New Routes
Avelo Airlines announced the introduction of 17 new routes, expanding its service to include 10 new destinations such as Albany, Atlanta, and Miami. This expansion is part of Avelo’s strategy to connect primarily underserved communities via smaller, more accessible airports, enhancing the travel experience with convenience and reduced congestion.
Simultaneously, Avelo has reported exceptional operational performance for April, leading the U.S. airline industry in on-time performance and recording zero flight cancellations. The airline achieved an 88.6% on-time arrival rate, which notably exceeds the industry average of 80.1%. According to third-party data platform Anuvu, used by The Wall Street Journal for its airline rankings, Avelo also maintained the lowest cancellation rate among all U.S. carriers, operating all 1,371 scheduled flights during the peak of the spring break travel season.
Andrew Levy, Founder and CEO of Avelo Airlines, remarked on the dual achievement, "Operational reliability and expanding our service network are key to our mission of inspiring travel. Our performance this April and the launch of new routes demonstrate our commitment to this goal." Levy’s statement underscores the airline's focus on reliability and customer satisfaction as it scales up its operations.
The new routes mark a significant milestone in Avelo’s growth, bringing its total to 77 routes across 52 destinations in 23 states and Puerto Rico. Since its launch on April 28, 2021, Avelo has transported over 4.6 million customers, emphasizing no fee for changes or cancellations and guaranteed seating for children with accompanying adults to enhance family travel.
