Avelo Airlines Expands with Four New Nonstop Destinations from New Haven
Avelo Airlines has inaugurated new flights from Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) to four destinations: Houston, Texas (HOU); St. Louis, Missouri (STL); Orlando/Lakeland, Florida (LAL); and Traverse City, Michigan (TVC). This expansion makes Avelo the only airline offering nonstop service from Connecticut to these locations, with fares starting at $77.
The new routes increase Avelo’s network to 26 cities in 12 states and Puerto Rico. The airline will operate these flights using Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft, providing more travel options for Connecticut residents.
Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont and New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker both welcomed the expansion, emphasizing its potential positive impact on local business and travel convenience. With these new routes, Avelo aims to strengthen its presence in Southern Connecticut, offering enhanced connectivity and economic benefits to the region.
As part of the inaugural celebrations, passengers on the first Houston flight will receive gift cards from New Haven’s famous Frank Pepe Pizzeria. This follows a recent event where New Haven was honored as "The Pizza Capital of the United States."
The new routes begin service between June 13 and June 15, 2024, offering travelers the chance to explore diverse destinations. Whether visiting the cultural landmarks of St. Louis, the urban attractions of Houston, the family-friendly sites of Orlando/Lakeland, or the scenic beauty of Traverse City, these new flights provide exciting travel options.
Avelo Airlines continues to expand its network, aiming to offer convenient and affordable travel solutions. The addition of these destinations marks a significant step in Avelo’s growth and commitment to improving travel experiences for its passengers.
