Batik Air pilots fell asleep during the flight for almost half an hour
Two Indonesian pilots from Batik Air fell asleep for almost 30 minutes during a flight.
The incident took place on January 25 during a flight from the island of Sulawesi to the country's capital, Jakarta, on the island of Java, as reported by CNN.
One of the pilots decided to take a rest, handing over control of the aircraft to his partner before falling asleep. However, the co-pilot also nodded off. During this period, air traffic controllers from Jakarta attempted to contact the aircraft but received no response. Meanwhile, the plane deviated from its intended course.
After 28 minutes, the first pilot woke up, promptly rousing his colleague, responded to the controllers, and steered the plane back to the correct flight path. Consequently, the aircraft landed without incident, and no passengers were injured.
As TravelWise previously reported, the American Airlines pilot made a pre-flight speech and became famous online. He talked about travel etiquette, inserting a few funny words.
