British Airways Opens Renovated Lounge at Lagos Airport
British Airways has unveiled its newly renovated lounge at Lagos Airport after a six-month refurbishment. This upgraded space provides passengers with enhanced facilities for dining, relaxation, and work, alongside an exhibition of local art curated by Akoje Gallery.
The lounge spans 360 square meters and is divided into various zones to meet different customer needs. Upon entering through a floor-to-ceiling glass entrance, visitors find a self-serve dining area offering a rotating menu of freshly prepared dishes, featuring both Nigerian and British cuisine. A new bar serves a range of drinks, including cocktails and champagne for First Class passengers.
Art from Nigerian artists is prominently displayed in the lounge, thanks to a partnership with Akoje Gallery. The first exhibit, themed ‘New Beginnings,’ includes works by Olawunmi Banjo, Qozeem Abdul Rahman, and Steve Ekpenisi. This initiative aims to celebrate local culture and talent.
In addition to its artistic and culinary offerings, the lounge includes a quiet room with day beds, comfortable seating areas, and workstations with printing facilities.
British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, Calum Laming, highlighted the importance of the lounge in the overall customer journey. The lounge is open to passengers traveling in Club World (business) and First Class, as well as Silver and Gold Executive Club Members.
