Carnival Cruise Line Announces New Family Resort on Grand Bahama Island
Carnival Cruise Line has announced the opening of a new family resort, Celebration Key, on Grand Bahama Island, scheduled for July 2025. The main attraction of the new resort will be Starfish Lagoon, one of the largest freshwater lagoons in the Caribbean.
Starfish Lagoon will offer various activities for guests of all ages. Among the attractions are the Flash Flamingo and Mach III Marlin water slides, each over 100 meters long, the Guppy Grotto children's playground with a pool up to 60 cm deep, and a game pavilion with table games.
At the adjacent sports court, visitors can play volleyball, basketball, and pickleball. Additionally, guests will have access to floating AquaBanas cabanas, an adult swim-up bar, and a beach area with kayak and paddleboard rentals. For relaxation, there will be sun loungers, umbrellas, and cabanas.
The resort will also feature a variety of dining options, including restaurants and food trucks with Bahamian cuisine. Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy noted that the new resort is designed for family vacations, considering the interests of toddlers, teenagers, and adults.
Celebration Key will be part of a larger complex that includes Paradise Plaza, Calypso Lagoon, and Lokono Cove. Carnival plans to reveal additional details about the adults-only area soon. The resort is scheduled to open in July 2025, and over 500 itineraries that include visits to this new location on 18 ships from 10 U.S. homeports are already available.
