Cheshire East Expands Weekend Bus Services for Travelers
Starting next month, Cheshire East will introduce new weekend bus services, enhancing travel options across the borough. This initiative aims to provide improved public transport access to key towns and villages, ensuring seven-day-a-week connectivity for both residents and visitors.
The expanded services will greatly benefit travelers looking to explore the region and also those needing access to major hospitals like Leighton Hospital in Crewe and Macclesfield District General Hospital. The council's enhancements are designed to facilitate essential journeys and improve the overall travel experience.
A significant highlight of the new services is the increased frequency of the number 38 bus route, a crucial link between Crewe and Macclesfield. This route, which already sees over 400,000 passenger journeys annually, will offer more convenient and reliable travel options for tourists and locals alike.
The updated bus timetables, effective from Sunday, June 9, are part of Cheshire East's broader strategy to enhance public transportation. By improving weekend services, the council aims to meet the growing demand for better travel links, making it easier for visitors to explore the area's attractions and services throughout the week.
These changes reflect the council's commitment to supporting tourism and providing excellent travel infrastructure. The expanded bus services are expected to boost local tourism by offering seamless connections for visitors traveling for leisure, healthcare, or work.
