CLEAR Partners with TSA to Enhance PreCheck Enrollment
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has recently broadened its TSA PreCheck® services by collaborating with CLEAR to offer more accessible enrollment options at selected airports. This partnership aims to facilitate a smoother and more efficient security screening process for travelers.
CLEAR will now provide TSA PreCheck enrollment services, complementing its existing suite of fast-track security solutions. This move comes as part of TSA's ongoing effort to enhance the convenience of airport security operations, especially given the substantial growth of the PreCheck program since its inception in December 2013.
CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker and TSA Administrator David Pekoske highlighted that the expanded service will not only streamline the enrollment process but also offer extended service hours at certain locations. Travelers can now access TSA PreCheck enrollments and renewals at three major airports:
- Orlando International Airport (MCO)
- Sacramento International Airport (SMF)
- Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
TSA’s benchmarks show PreCheck lane wait times are typically less than ten minutes, underscoring the efficiency of the program, which allows members to keep on light outerwear and belts, and leave laptops and compliant liquids in their bags during screening.
Furthermore, the recent decision to permit teens aged 13-17 to use PreCheck lanes with enrolled parents or guardians, and allowing children 12 and under the same privileges without restrictions, marks a significant enhancement to family travel convenience.
