Portsmouth’s Kings Theatre and First Solent are partnering to make theatre trips more accessible during the festive season. A special "five for five pounds" return bus ticket offers groups of up to five people a chance to travel to the theatre for just one pound each. Available exclusively on Service Two, the deal runs before and after pantomime performances, encouraging sustainable transport options with electric buses.

The Service Two route connects key points across the city, including Gunwharf, Eastney, and Cosham, making it easier for locals and visitors to reach the theatre. Tickets can be purchased directly from bus drivers two hours before showtimes, and the return journey is valid within two hours after the performance ends. This initiative reduces the stress of navigating unfamiliar roads or finding parking near the theatre.

The Kings Theatre, a historic venue in Portsmouth, is renowned for its captivating shows and architectural charm. Located in the heart of the city, it offers an array of performances throughout the year, from family-friendly pantomimes to thought-provoking plays. Visitors can also explore the theatre’s backstage tours, which provide a glimpse into its rich history and the magic behind the scenes.

For travelers, the Kings Theatre is more than just a destination for entertainment. Its proximity to other attractions, such as Southsea’s seafront and cultural hotspots, allows for a well-rounded day of exploration. The nearby cafes and restaurants provide additional opportunities to experience the local culinary scene after a show.

This travel initiative is a boon for visitors and locals alike, offering a budget-friendly and eco-conscious way to enjoy Portsmouth. The partnership between First Solent and the Kings Theatre demonstrates how accessible public transport can enhance the travel experience, making it easier to enjoy cultural events while minimizing environmental impact.
