Delta and Saudia Team Up to Expand Flight Destinations
Delta Air Lines has forged a new shared flight partnership with Saudia, the flag carrier of Saudi Arabia. This deal aspires to bolster connections connecting North America and the Arabian Peninsula, offering a wider variety of journey choices options for travelers. Pending government approvals, this arrangement seeks to enhance the flight networks of both airlines, allowing passengers more flexibility in choosing their travel routes.
Through this initiative, Delta passengers will soon have the chance to connect to visit nine additional locations across Saudi Arabia and the Middle East through Saudia's major major airports in Jeddah and Riyadh. In exchange, Saudia passengers will have the ability to reach a dozen locations throughout cities through Delta’s major airports, including New York’s JFK and Los Angeles’ LAX. As both carriers are affiliated with the SkyTeam network, travelers will remain capable of enjoying shared benefits, such as accumulating and using frequent flyer miles.
This agreement makes travel to some of Saudi Arabia's most exciting locations easier for U.S. passengers. Jeddah, a bustling port city, boasts a rich history alongside modern attractions like the stunning Corniche on the Red Sea coast. Riyadh, the country's capital, offers a dynamic mix of modern skyscrapers and historical sites, perfect for business travelers and tourists alike. These destinations will now be within easier reach for those flying with Delta.
In addition to Saudi Arabia, the codeshare will open up more travel opportunities to other Middle Eastern destinations. Places like Doha in Qatar, with its striking skyline and world-class museums, and Kuwait City, known for its modern architecture and vibrant cultural scene, will become more accessible. This new level of connectivity offers travelers a smoother and more convenient way to explore the region.
For Delta, this move aligns with its ongoing efforts to strengthen its global network, particularly in the Gulf region, where the need for air travel continues to rise. By collaborating with Saudia, Delta is positioning itself to cater serving both corporate and leisure travelers seeking more flight options between these important regions. For Saudia, this arrangement supports its goal of expanding international entry into the Kingdom, boosting tourism and strengthening its global presence.
For travelers, this collaboration translates to a wider range of options, fewer layovers, and greater convenience. Whether planning a business trip or a vacation, passengers can anticipate improved routes and a smooth journey connecting North America with the Middle East.
