Austrian Airlines Boosts Flight Frequencies Between Bangkok and Vienna
Austrian Airlines has announced a significant increase in the number of weekly flights between Bangkok and Vienna, raising the frequency from 7 to 13 flights per week for the busy winter season. This move marks the largest capacity increase in the airline's Winter 2024 schedule, representing an 86% boost in available flights on this popular route.
The decision to expand services comes in response to high demand from passengers traveling between Austria and Thailand. Austrian Airlines, known for its exceptional service and modern fleet, continues to enhance its offerings to accommodate growing passenger numbers. The airline’s fleet includes Airbus A320 family, Boeing 767, and Boeing 777 aircraft, ensuring a reliable and comfortable travel experience.
Passengers on these increased flights can expect the high standard of service Austrian Airlines is known for, including complimentary meals and beverages with a selection inspired by both Austrian cuisine and international flavors. Austrian Airlines also prides itself on its punctuality, consistently ranking as one of Europe's most reliable carriers.
Brendan Shashoua, Lufthansa Group Senior Director Sales for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, highlighted the importance of this route since its inception in 1988. He emphasized that Thailand remains a highly attractive destination for European travelers, which has driven the decision to increase the number of flights. Shashoua also noted the previous introduction of the Airbus A380 on the Bangkok to Munich route as a testament to the group’s commitment to the Thai market.
The enhanced service not only benefits Thai travelers by providing more options for travel to Europe but also strengthens the long-standing diplomatic and cultural ties between Thailand and Austria. Austrian Airlines, part of both the Star Alliance and Lufthansa Group, continues to play a pivotal role in connecting Asia with Europe through its Vienna hub. This increased capacity is a reflection of the airline’s dedication to meeting the demands of the Asia Pacific region and improving connectivity for passengers on both ends of the route.
