European tourism is actively reviving with projected record-breaking travel expenditures. These data reflect a positive recovery trend, although the uneven distribution across regions and sources of demand remains a relevant issue.

In the first quarter of the year, the number of foreign tourists and the number of nights they spent exceeded 2019 figures. Growth is particularly notable in regional leaders such as Germany, France, and Italy, as well as in long-haul sources of demand, especially from the United States.

Tourists prefer certain destinations due to various factors. Historical cities like Rome, Paris, and London attract those who appreciate cultural heritage and architectural masterpieces. Natural beauties found in mountains, lakes, and beaches appeal to those seeking tranquility and harmony with nature. Gastronomic tours, active recreation, and cultural events are also among the priority directions, as they offer opportunities for new experiences and adventures.

The strongest recovery is observed in southern regions such as Serbia, Bulgaria, and Turkey, where competitive prices and mild winter climates attract tourists. However, the Baltic countries remain under-tracked.

In the first quarter of 2024, European tourism demonstrates impressive recovery, with extremely positive indicators in travel expenditures and an increase in the number of foreign tourists. This trend is particularly noticeable in regional leaders such as Germany, France, and Italy, as well as in long-haul journeys, especially from the United States. Tourists prefer various destinations, from historical cities to natural beauties, gastronomic tours, and active recreation.

The strongest recovery is observed in southern regions, where attractive prices and pleasant winter climates prevail. Overall, European tourism has great potential for further development in 2024, which could contribute to increased spending and improved economic conditions in the industry. Thus, European tourism exhibits a stable recovery, with significant potential for increased spending and improved economic conditions in the industry in 2024.
