She noted that while many travelers still flock to popular tourist spots, there's a growing trend of seeking out quieter, lesser-known locations. This trend is driven by a desire for more authentic local experiences and cost savings.

One such destination is Tivat, a small coastal town in Montenegro. KAYAK reports a 74 percent increase in flight searches to Tivat between 2023 and 2024, indicating its rising popularity as a cheaper alternative to Croatia. Visitors to Tivat can enjoy a speedboat tour to the nearby Blue Cave, where they can swim in clear, turquoise waters and spot dolphins.

Another recommended destination is Béziers, a quiet French town that KAYAK describes as one of the country's best-hidden gems. Flights to Béziers typically cost around £204, making it approximately £50 cheaper than other French cities. Despite its affordability, Béziers offers rich history and culture, including the impressive Cathédrale Saint-Nazaire de Béziers, a large Gothic church built in 1209.
