Discover Seasonal Exhibitions at Fondation Louis Vuitton
Planning a trip to Paris this summer? Enjoy the charm of the Seine, the vibrant Marais district, and the city's iconic attractions. Don't miss the Fondation Louis Vuitton, a stunning architectural marvel in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne.
The Fondation Louis Vuitton, since its opening in 2014, has aimed to make art and culture accessible to all. This summer, it continues its mission by showcasing exhibitions dedicated to Ellsworth Kelly and Henri Matisse.
The "Ellsworth Kelly. Shapes and Colors, 1949-2015" exhibition runs until September 9th, featuring over a hundred pieces from the renowned American abstract artist. The collection includes paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs, and collages that reflect Kelly's unique style, inspired by nature and the world around him. This exhibition offers a comprehensive look at Kelly's career, celebrating his innovative use of color and form.
In partnership with The Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the SMK – National Gallery of Denmark, Copenhagen, the Fondation is also presenting "Matisse: The Red Studio." This exhibition focuses on the creation and history of Matisse's famous 1911 masterpiece and marks the first time the works from "The Red Studio" have been reunited in France since leaving Matisse's studio. Visitors will gain insight into Matisse's creative process and the significance of this iconic work.
In addition to these art exhibitions, visitors can experience "The Collection: A Sports Meeting," part of the Cultural Olympiad approved by Paris 2024. The Fondation will host the Olympic Flame, presenting works by artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol, offering a unique and poetic view of the sports world. This event promises to provide a fresh and dynamic perspective on the intersection of art and athletics.
