Earn Flying Blue Miles with Uber Rides in France and the Netherlands
Travelers across France and the Netherlands have a new way to earn frequent flyer miles. Rideshare app Uber has announced a new multi-year partnership with Flying Blue, the loyalty program of the Air France-KLM Group, allowing Flying Blue members to earn miles when using Uber, effective immediately.
Local residents and visitors can now earn 1 Flying Blue Mile for every €1 ($1.09) spent on Uber rides. This rate doubles to 2 miles for every €1 for those who take four or more trips in one month. To take advantage of this offer, riders must link their Flying Blue account with Uber, a simple process that can be done in the app. The double-mile offer extends for three months following the initial qualifying month.
Benjamin Lipsey, Senior Vice President of Customer Loyalty and President of Flying Blue at Air France and KLM, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, noting its alignment with the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.
The partnership enhances Flying Blue's existing benefits for Air France, Transavia, and KLM flyers. Flying Blue Miles can be redeemed with over 40 airlines and 100 commercial partners, including for sustainable aviation fuel, flight upgrades, hotel bookings, shopping, and charitable donations.
The ability to earn miles on Uber rides is being rolled out alongside new features for Uber customers in France and the Netherlands. Riders can now search and reserve Uber options in over 10,000 cities worldwide, allowing them to view the average wait time and cost of a ride from any local airport.
Anabel Diaz, Vice President of Uber Mobility for EMEA, highlighted how these new features will benefit travelers by making their journeys more rewarding.
Additionally, Uber has expanded its Uber Boat offerings to include a Champagne tour in Paris and a free private cruise on the Seine, in partnership with Click&Boat. Passengers can pre-book the one-hour Uber Cruise through the Uber app, enjoying views of Paris’s landmarks on an electric boat. This complimentary cruise is available from July 12th - 18th and July 28th - August 3rd, with departures every 20 minutes from Pont Marie in Central Paris.
