easyJet Opens New Year-Round Route from Liverpool to Malta
easyJet has unveiled a new year-round flight route from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Malta, set to commence on December 10, 2024. The service will run twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Sundays, providing additional travel options for residents of the North West.
The introduction of the Malta route is the fourth addition to easyJet’s Liverpool network in the past year, joining new routes to Enfida in Tunisia, Hurghada in Egypt, and Corfu in Greece. This expansion highlights easyJet's efforts to enhance connectivity for its passengers.
Malta, a Mediterranean archipelago known for its scenic coastlines, clear waters, and extensive sunshine, offers a rich historical backdrop and a variety of activities for travelers. The new route is expected to attract tourists looking for cultural experiences, beach vacations, and diving opportunities.
Paul Winfield, Aviation Director for Liverpool John Lennon Airport, welcomed the new service: "We are excited to see this new route to Malta, a popular destination among holidaymakers from Liverpool and the surrounding region. This addition represents a significant opportunity for growth, as more travelers from the North West can now easily fly to Malta from Liverpool."
easyJet, which bases seven aircraft at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, handles around 2 million passengers annually. The airline operates up to 340 flights weekly to 27 destinations, underscoring its role in the region's travel infrastructure.
