easyJet's Fearless Flyer Program: Transforming Aerophobics into Confident Travelers
Over 12,000 Aerophobics Now Enjoy Flying, Thanks to easyJet
easyJet's remarkable Fearless Flyer program has achieved a 95% success rate in helping people overcome their fear of flying, turning aerophobics into avid travelers. Since its inception in 2012, the program has empowered over 12,000 individuals to conquer their fears and embrace the joys of air travel.
The Program's Impact and Upcoming Sessions
This transformative program is set to return next week, just in time for the summer holiday season, with sessions planned at nine key airports across the UK. These include Glasgow, Bristol, Manchester, Belfast, London Gatwick, Liverpool, Edinburgh, London Luton, and for the first time, Birmingham—easyJet's new base.
A Personal Approach to Conquering Fear
Mark Wein, the Fearless Flyer Course Director and a former aerophobe himself, emphasizes that fear of flying often stems from a lack of understanding or fear of panic attacks. "Our course addresses these root causes through comprehensive ground sessions followed by a confidence-boosting Experience Flight, complete with pilot commentary, ensuring participants can look forward to future flights with confidence," says Wein.
How the Fearless Flyer Program Works
The program, costing £89 ($110), unfolds in three phases:
- Virtual Ground Course: Led by an easyJet captain, this segment demystifies common in-flight sounds and sensations. Additionally, fear psychology expert Lawrence Leyton teaches techniques to manage anxiety.
- Pre-flight 'Meet the Team' Session: This online briefing includes a walkthrough of the airport experience and a Q&A session, helping participants feel prepared before they fly.
- Experience Flight: A one-hour flight that allows participants to apply their new knowledge in real-time, supported by live commentary from the Fearless Flyer team.
Participant Testimonials Reinforce Program's Efficacy
Testimonials from participants like Jasmine Cross, who attended the London Gatwick session, highlight the program's effectiveness. "The techniques I learned were invaluable, and the detailed explanations during the flight made me feel safe and in control," she shared.
Upcoming Program Dates
The program will run from April to June, with specific start dates for each location available on the easyJet website. This schedule ensures that many more individuals will have the opportunity to overcome their flying fears in time for their summer travels.
