Emirates Expands Modernized Boeing 777 Fleet to Lyon and Marrakech
Emirates has announced the expansion of its retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on routes to two additional cities—Lyon and Marrakech. Starting from June 1, 2024, passengers on these routes will enjoy upgraded cabins, including fully enclosed first-class suites, enhanced economy class, and a state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system. These changes are part of Emirates' extensive $2 billion fleet modernization program.
This move highlights Emirates' strategic intent to enhance the passenger experience on high-demand routes. The introduction of retrofitted aircraft on the Lyon and Marrakech routes could strengthen the airline's position in the European and North African markets by offering more comfortable travel conditions and attracting passengers who value high-quality service.
The expansion of retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on flights to Lyon and Marrakech holds particular significance for France and Morocco, where these cities play a crucial role in the economy and tourism. Lyon, as one of France's largest business and cultural hubs, attracts a significant number of tourists and business travelers. Meanwhile, Marrakech, known for its historical landmarks and cultural heritage, is a major tourist center in Morocco. The introduction of upgraded aircraft on these routes will not only enhance travel comfort but also support the tourism appeal and business connections between these countries and the UAE.
