Emirates Passengers Consume Over 45 Million Luxury Chocolates Annually
Emirates enhances the onboard experience by offering artisan chocolates as part of their meal service on flights to 140 destinations worldwide. Economy Class travelers enjoyed 36.3 million chocolates, Premium Economy customers indulged in 322,000 chocolates, Business Class passengers consumed 8.2 million, and First Class passengers relished 122,000 large gourmet chocolate boxes, with access to unlimited chocolates.
Currently, Emirates features chocolates from the elite French chocolatier Valrhona, known for its dedication to excellence and ethical sourcing. Established in 1922 by Albéric Guironnet, Valrhona is celebrated for its meticulous craftsmanship and innovative chocolate-making techniques.
Emirates regularly rotates its chocolate selection from renowned global producers, including Bateel, Coco Jalila, Forrey & Galland from the UAE, Butlers from Ireland, and Hotel Chocolat from the UK. Selections are based on flavor, texture, brand recognition, and sustainable sourcing.
Across all classes, Emirates’ menu includes various chocolate desserts. First Class offers chocolate mousse with passionfruit, white chocolate tart, chocolate fondant with mascarpone cream, and vegan chocolate pecan cake. Business and Premium Economy classes feature vegan onyx avocado chocolate tart and banana mango milk chocolate dome, while Economy Class passengers enjoy chocolate and orange mousse or milk chocolate caramel cake.
On longer routes, passengers can enjoy chocolate candy bars and chocolate lollipops for children. First Class goodie baskets include 85% dark chocolate from Lindt, and the A380 Onboard lounge offers an assortment of vegan and non-vegan sweet treats, including M&Ms and chocolate mini treats.
Emirates Lounges also provide homemade chocolate ice cream, Costa Coffee hot chocolate, and an array of MasterChef creations. The First Class dessert trolley presents Valrhona Grand Cru chocolate truffles, chocolate-coated madeleines, and desserts like crunchy milk chocolate cake with hazelnut praline and roasted banana chocolate caramel cake.
