Ethiopian Airlines has announced a new route connecting Warsaw, Poland, with Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, starting from July 1, 2024. The new service, operating four times a week with a stop in Athens, aims to enhance travel options between Europe and Africa.
The inaugural flight was celebrated at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport with a ceremony attended by the Polish Ambassador to Ethiopia, key Ethiopian government officials, and top executives from Ethiopian Airlines. This new route is expected to boost tourism and business travel between Poland and Ethiopia, facilitating easier access to Africa for European travelers.
Flights are scheduled as follows: ET 764 departs Addis Ababa for Warsaw via Athens on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The return flight, ET 765, operates on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Mr. Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, stated, "We are excited to offer this new connection between Africa and Central Europe. This route will provide our passengers with more travel options and convenience."
Warsaw becomes the 24th European destination for Ethiopian Airlines, highlighting the growing interest and travel demand between the two continents. This expansion is part of Ethiopian Airlines’ strategy to enhance its presence in Europe and offer more direct routes for European travelers seeking to explore Africa.
This new connection is also poised to benefit the growing Ethiopian diaspora in Europe, particularly in Poland, by providing them with more convenient travel options to visit family and friends. Additionally, Polish businesses will find it easier to explore investment opportunities in one of Africa’s fastest-growing economies, thereby fostering stronger economic ties between the two nations.
The launch of this route is also a step towards strengthening economic and cultural ties between Poland and Ethiopia. European travelers can now easily access Ethiopian Airlines’ network, known for its quality service and connectivity across Africa.
Ethiopian Airlines has been recognized for its excellence in service, securing the title of Best Airline in Africa at the 2024 SKYTRAX World Airlines Awards. Travelers can book flights to Warsaw through the airline's digital platforms and ticket offices, taking advantage of the convenient new service.
