Etihad Airways Unveils New Chase Sapphire Lounge at Washington Dulles
In a significant expansion of its premium travel services, Etihad Airways, in collaboration with Chase, inaugurated its latest Chase Sapphire Lounge at Washington Dulles International Airport on March 5. Nestled in Concourse A, near gate A15, this launch marks a renewed presence for Etihad, revitalizing its hospitality offerings at an airport where it previously operated a lounge until 2013.
Positioned strategically near gates A14 and A15, the lounge spans approximately 5,200 square feet over two floors, offering a cozy yet sophisticated environment for travelers. Despite being slightly smaller than other lounges at Washington Dulles, the Chase Sapphire Lounge stands out for its accessibility and exclusive amenities. Open daily from 06:00 to 22:00, access is elegantly restricted to three hours before the travelers' scheduled departure, ensuring a serene atmosphere for its guests.
A unique feature of the lounge is its culinary offerings, aligning with Chase Sapphire Lounges' tradition of providing top-notch dining experiences. Guests can enjoy made-to-order meals, a variety of buffet-style food, signature cocktails, and an assortment of beverages including coffee and tea, enhancing the pre-flight experience with luxury and comfort.
Eligibility for access to this exquisite lounge is extended to Etihad Airways' premium passengers, including those flying in first or business class, as well as Etihad Airways Guest Platinum and Gold members. Moreover, the lounge's partnership with Chase opens avenues for Chase credit card holders to enjoy the lounge's facilities. Notably, travelers with Priority Pass membership, commonly available to Chase Sapphire Reserve and Ritz-Carlton credit card holders, benefit from unlimited lounge access, showcasing a blend of travel luxury and banking perks.
For non-Priority Pass members or those without a Chase Sapphire Reserve card, limited access is still possible either once per calendar year or through a purchase option, making the lounge an accessible luxury for a broader audience.
This opening is juxtaposed with the recent expansion efforts by Capital One at Washington Dulles, which introduced its second lounge in September 2023, emphasizing the competitive and evolving landscape of airport lounge services. As Etihad Airways and Chase contribute to enhancing the luxury travel experience, their new lounge is set to become a coveted retreat for discerning travelers seeking comfort and exclusivity before their journey.
