Fanhansa Returns: Lufthansa’s Airbus A320 Fleet Ready for UEFA Euro 2024
In anticipation of the UEFA Euro 2024 football championship, Lufthansa is reintroducing its special Fanhansa liveries on six Airbus A320s. This initiative is part of Lufthansa's celebration of the tournament, running from June 14 to July 14, 2024, in Germany.
Lufthansa has a history of supporting football tournaments with unique liveries, previously showcasing a Fanhansa aircraft for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The six Airbus A320s will replace the traditional 'Lufthansa' branding with 'Fanhansa' and feature UEFA Euro 2024-themed enhancements, including custom headrests, food trays, and special chocolates.
Additionally, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines will provide a live ticker for match updates on domestic and European flights. This service, accessible via passengers' electronic devices through Lufthansa's FlyNet portal, will offer real-time text commentary. Furthermore, Allegris-equipped Airbus A350-900 aircraft and Discover Airlines' long-haul flights will also feature this live ticker.
Passengers traveling to the ten host cities can receive a Lufthansa-designed European fan scarf, a popular souvenir resembling the airline's route network. This scarf is displayed at Munich Airport, aligning with Lufthansa's 'Yes To Europe' campaign and celebrating the football tournament.
The tournament's impact on air travel is significant. Lufthansa and its group airlines have seen an additional 200,000 bookings to the host cities. The Association of German Commercial Airports expects 2 million passengers during the tournament, coordinating over 500 additional flights to accommodate the influx of fans.
Lufthansa's efforts demonstrate its commitment to enhancing the travel experience for football fans, reinforcing its role in promoting openness, tolerance, and diversity. By integrating the excitement of the UEFA Euro 2024 into its services, Lufthansa aims to provide a memorable experience for all travelers.
