Fines for football, dogs, noise and wet clothes outside: What you need to know before visiting Italy
Strict rules have been introduced to curb excessive tourism in some Italian resorts. They include football, for which one can be fined up to 500 pounds.
The Grandi Lagoons in Italy, or a group of lakes on the southern side of the Alps, are among the most visited places in the country, especially in summer, when Italians seek to cool off due to the abnormal heat. Tourists from all over the world also come here, International Business Times writes.
To overcome the crazy influx of people, some restrictions have been introduced here. One of the lakes in Northern Italy, Lake Garda, is now a football-free zone. Here, tourists will be fined for wearing bathing suits in cities and playing ball on pristine beaches.
It is also forbidden to swim naked in Garda, play football or other games that involve running or throwing objects along the shore. If a tourist is caught, they can be fined from 86 to 515 pounds.
Camping, barbecuing, picnics, parties and making noise are also prohibited. Beachgoers will no longer be able to take their dogs with them.
It is forbidden to hang wet clothes outside on balconies and terraces in Limone, a city in the west of Lake Garda. People who violate the rules will face a fine of up to £429.
