Flights to Hawaii, Orlando, and Las Vegas: the top 10 busiest air routes in the USA in 2023
Travel data provider OAG recently released the busiest domestic air routes in the United States for 2023. The route between Honolulu's Daniel K. Inouye International Airport and Kahului Airport on Maui, with a flight time of only about 20 minutes, was the busiest in the US this year with 3.6 million available seats.
The route between Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and Orlando International Airport was the second busiest route in the US in 2023, with approximately 3.5 million seats. Other top destinations include business and tourist centers such as Las Vegas, Denver, San Francisco, and Chicago, as reported by Business Insider Netherland.
Here are the 10 busiest domestic routes in the US for 2023 according to OAG:
10. Los Angeles - Chicago O'Hare

Number of seats: 2.67 million

9. Atlanta - New York-LGA
Atlanta Airport is within a two-hour flight for 80% of the US population.
Number of seats: 2.71 million

8. Denver - Phoenix
Denver was not in the top 10 in 2019 but made the list twice in 2023.
Number of seats: 3.04 million
