Flynas Expands Domestic Flights for Summer, Boosting Tourism with Over 480,000 Seats
Flynas, the leading low-cost airline in the Middle East, has significantly increased its seat capacity on domestic flights to Taif, Abha, and Al-Baha. For the summer of 2024, the airline will offer more than 480,000 seats, marking a 21% rise compared to the same period last year. This expansion involves an average of 30 flights per day over three months, aligning with the delivery of Flynas' 52nd new aircraft from an order of 120 A320neo planes from Airbus.
CEO and Managing Director of Flynas, Bander Almohanna, emphasized that this increase underscores the airline's commitment to enhancing domestic tourism in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The expansion supports the tourism sector's ambitious goals, achieved through collaboration with relevant authorities in the aviation and tourism industries.
Almohanna further noted that the decision to increase seat capacity responds to the growing demand for domestic travel during the summer season. This move aligns with Flynas' strategic growth plan, launched under the slogan "We Connect the World to the Kingdom." The plan aims to boost operational capacities and fleet size, supporting the National Civil Aviation Strategy's objectives.
Direct flights to Taif, Abha, and Al-Baha are available from Flynas' operation bases in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah. This expanded capacity, effective from June 1 to August 31, 2024, offers more options for travelers. The recent addition of the 52nd A320neo aircraft, the fifth received this year, demonstrates Flynas' commitment to sustainability with its fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly fleet.
By expanding its domestic flight options, Flynas is poised to significantly contribute to Saudi Arabia's tourism goals, aiming to connect the Kingdom with 250 international destinations, accommodate 330 million passengers, and attract 100 million tourists annually by 2030.
