France asks other countries to send military for the 2024 Olympics
The organizers of the 2024 Olympic Games are planning serious security measures during the competition due to the high probability of terrorist attacks. More than 30 countries have already volunteered to help France host the Olympics.
Thus, the host country has asked other countries to help organize the Games. France has reportedly asked about 45 countries to send several thousand personnel to Paris this summer, Reuters reports.
It is primarily about the military, but the French also need police and civilian personnel to organize the Olympics. France itself plans to involve about 80,000 of its personnel every day.
Among the reasons for ensuring a higher level of organization is the unstable situation in the world due to the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East. France needs:
- motorized and horse-drawn brigades
- teams with search dogs
- specialists in document falsification
- military to patrol the streets
- experts in demining
- specialists in the fight against drones
As TravelWise previously reported, Air France is increasing the number of transatlantic flights ahead of the Paris Olympics. First, the airline is resuming its route from Minneapolis/St. Louis.
