In China, a cook's jest from a food stall in Jiangxi province has evolved into a genuine trend. According to rumors, the street vendor decided to offer customers fried ice to cool them down in the heat.

However, the video depicting the preparation of this unusual dish with spices and additives gained such popularity that it started to make actual appearances on the streets of China. According to the New York Post, locals asserted that fried ice is not a national dish of the country, and they only recently learned about it.

In the video, ice cubes are grilled on a grate over an open flame and drizzled with a sweet and sour sauce. Finally, the dish is garnished with a mixture of green onions and sesame seeds.

Surprisingly, there were many people eager to try these frozen water concoctions, and even more praised the concept.

Some even shared their impressions online. According to them, the fried ice had a distinctive taste, although they primarily experienced the flavor of the sauce.

The concept was swiftly adopted by other street vendors from the neighboring province of Hunan. Now, they sell the dish for $2 per serving and generate a good income without relying on expensive ingredients.
