Grandma Joy's Global Adventure Breaks Records with Grandson
Grandma Joy made history by becoming the oldest person in the world to visit all 63 national parks in the United States at the age of 93. Her faithful companion in this incredible journey was her grandson, Dr. Brad Ryan. Now, this dynamic duo has embarked on a new adventure, aiming to visit all seven continents.
Their first stop was Africa, which they explored during a trip with National Geographic Expeditions in Kenya in July 2023. Ryan then continued his journey, traveling by train through Western Canada to explore North America in September of the same year.
In February of this year, Grandma Joy and Brad immersed themselves in the wonders of South America, joining the "Wild Galápagos Escape" expedition aboard the National Geographic Islander II. They marveled at the stunning endemic wildlife and captivating natural wonders during this leg of their journey.
Grandma Joy and Dr. Ryan continue to inspire us with their spirit and determination to explore the world regardless of age. Their adventures are a testament to the fact that the passion for travel knows no bounds.
In each of their expeditions, Grandma Joy and Dr. Ryan not only explore the natural beauty of the world but also immerse themselves in diverse cultures, fostering meaningful connections with people from all walks of life. Their journey serves as a reminder that age is no barrier to embracing new experiences and cherishing the wonders of our planet. With each destination they conquer, they inspire others to pursue their dreams and embark on their own adventures, creating lasting memories that defy the limitations of time.
