Hainan Airlines Reconnects Seattle and Beijing with Nonstop Service
In an exciting development for international travel, Hainan Airlines announces the resumption of its nonstop flights between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). This marks the first direct service between these two cities since the travel disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Starting April 2, 2024, Hainan Airlines plans to operate this route with three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, leveraging its fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners for the journey. This return is a significant step for the airline and travelers alike, promising to shorten the travel time between the continental United States and Mainland China significantly.
Flight HU496 will depart from Seattle at 11:00 local time, arriving in Beijing the following day at 15:10 local time. The return flight, HU495, will leave Beijing at 13:10 local time, reaching Seattle at 09:00 local time. This route not only offers convenience but also reinstates a vital link between China and the West Coast of America, a connection eagerly anticipated by around 200,000 travelers annually before the pandemic.
The resumption of the Seattle-Beijing route underscores Hainan Airlines' commitment to providing exceptional service and fostering connections between the two nations. Currently serving over 50 destinations across 28 countries, Hainan Airlines is optimistic about increasing flight frequencies in the future, pending governmental agreements.
This announcement is a beacon of progress in the recovery of international travel, offering both business and leisure travelers a direct and efficient option for trans-Pacific journeys. As Hainan Airlines looks forward to expanding its services, the airline continues to play a pivotal role in bridging distances and bringing the world closer together.
