HX Introduces New Winter 2026 Expedition in Norway

HX has unveiled an exciting new expedition set to debut in January 2026, perfectly timed for the peak of the aurora season in Northern Norway. Titled "Ultimate Norway – Arctic Expedition Under the Northern Lights," this itinerary is inspired by the Norwegian concept of Friluftsliv. Over the course of seven nights, guests will embark on a remarkable journey above the Arctic Circle.

The expedition will traverse four distinct regions in Northern Norway: the Lyngen Alps, Senja, Lofoten, and Vesterålen, with ten scheduled sailings from January to March 2026. Departing from Tromso aboard the MS Spitsbergen, guests can expect an all-inclusive experience.

Throughout the journey, guests will have the opportunity to engage in three exclusive experiences curated by HX, including a mesmerizing bonfire under the polar night, an intimate evening at the Hurtigruten Museum in Stokmarknes, and a rejuvenating Scandinavian sauna experience followed by a refreshing polar plunge. In addition to these, the itinerary boasts a diverse range of activities such as kayaking, whale watching, nature walks, alpine treks, snowshoeing, community visits, and ski touring, ensuring an enriching adventure for all.

Small-Scale Expedition Cruising

With a capacity for 160 guests, the MS Spitsbergen offers an intimate and serene atmosphere while still being nimble enough to explore remote locales inaccessible to larger vessels. Featuring Scandinavian-inspired décor, cozy cabins, expansive public areas with panoramic windows, an observation deck, Science Centre, and two restaurants, the ship caters to every need and preference.

The all-inclusive package encompasses three delicious meals daily, along with beverages, coffee, tea, and soft drinks available throughout the day. Guests will also enjoy access to onboard amenities such as the sauna, hot tub, fitness center, and the renowned Science Centre. Additionally, the package covers gratuities, daily excursions, expedition gear, a water bottle, high-speed Wi-Fi, and professional photographs capturing the highlights of the voyage.

Northern Lights Assurance

With a week spent entirely above the Arctic Circle and extended winter nights free from light pollution, guests have optimal conditions for experiencing the captivating Northern Lights. As part of HX's Northern Lights Promise, if the Northern Lights are not sighted during the expedition cruise, guests will receive a Future Cruise Credit of up to 1,200 EUR per person towards a future HX voyage.
