Iberia Enhances Travel Experience with WhatsApp Check-Ins and New In-Flight Meals
This summer, Iberia has introduced several new features to enhance its passengers' travel experience. From July, travelers can use WhatsApp to check in, receive their boarding passes, and get flight notifications, making the process more convenient. Additionally, Iberia has revamped its in-flight meal offerings across all cabins on long-haul flights.
Passengers now have the option to check in through WhatsApp for various destinations, including European Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and several Latin American countries. This new feature allows customers to access reservation details and receive important flight updates directly on their smartphones. Payments for additional services like extra luggage will also be available soon via this channel.
New In-Flight Meals
The culinary upgrade includes a variety of new dishes in all classes. Business Class travelers can savor octopus marinated in orange and paprika, while Premium Economy passengers can enjoy braised beef cheeks. Economy Class offers options like homemade meatballs in Romesco sauce. Additionally, Business Class will feature a new welcome mocktail and an enhanced selection of wines and premium liquors.
Sustainable Amenity Kits
Iberia has also introduced new amenity kits designed by Teresa Helbig, available in Business and Premium Economy classes. These kits emphasize sustainability, incorporating recycled materials and natural cosmetic products from Uvas Frescas, made entirely in Spain. The packaging and production process highlights Iberia’s commitment to the circular economy.
Enhanced In-Flight Entertainment
The in-flight entertainment system now includes exclusive content from Disney+ and recent releases such as "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" and "Kung Fu Panda 4". Passengers can also enjoy new Spanish films and podcasts during their flight.
Upgraded Premium Lounges
In addition to these onboard improvements, Iberia has enhanced its Premium Lounges at Barajas T4 with digitized services accessible via QR codes and new summer-themed menu designs. Premium customers will also receive vouchers for Cabify rides to the airport until the end of the year.
Expanded Route Network
Iberia continues to expand its network, increasing connectivity between Europe and Latin America and introducing new routes within Europe, including destinations in Italy, Portugal, and Slovenia. This summer, the airline aims to exceed 5.3 million seats between Europe and Latin America, a significant increase from last year.
