IHG Hotels & Resorts has launched a new initiative called "The Festival Closet by IHG x Pickle" in collaboration with the fashion rental platform Pickle. This project, aimed at hotel guests, allows the rental of stylish festival outfits at no cost, enhancing travel experiences while promoting sustainability.
The Festival Closet collection includes fashionable items such as dresses from Cult Gaia, sets from Miaou, and Chanel bags. Guests can access these rentals through the Pickle app or by visiting the pop-up showroom at Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York. This initiative offers an eco-friendly alternative to purchasing new outfits, reducing the environmental impact of single-use clothing.
For those unable to visit the showroom in person, the rental service will be available through the Pickle app from May 29 to June 9 and from July 27 to August 4. The rental process involves selecting an item, entering the code FESTIVALCLOSET, and enjoying the outfit for up to 14 days. Returns can be made via Pickle’s couriers, at their West Village store, or by mail with a prepaid label.
The official launch event is scheduled for June 1 at the rooftop of Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York. The event will feature a DJ set by Natasha Diggs, cocktails, light snacks, and a Pickle showroom showcasing rental options and discounts. Attendees can enjoy panoramic views of Manhattan from the Mr. Purple rooftop.
This collaboration between IHG and Pickle aims to make the summer festival season more enjoyable and sustainable for travelers. By offering an easy and free way to access fashionable clothing, the initiative encourages eco-conscious travel and reduces the need for single-use fashion purchases.
