In Vietnam, Louis Vuitton plans to launch a luxury train along the North-South route
A group of French fashion companies, led by VOV.VN - Louis Vuitton, is set to launch a luxury antique train in Vietnam. According to the French Ambassador to Vietnam, Olivier Brochet, the train is planned to operate between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to cater to tourists.
This decision was made on November 23 during a meeting between the French diplomat and the Vietnamese Minister of Transport, Nguyen Van Thang. According to Brochet, the French company will repair and upgrade the old cars, which have been in operation for more than 30 years before being imported to Vietnam, as reported by The Voice of Vietnam.
Brochet noted that several French companies are currently interested in finding investment opportunities in Vietnam. Additionally, he mentioned that as part of the Long Bien Bridge reconstruction project, the French government has decided to provide non-refundable assistance for 700,000 euros. These funds will be allocated to a French firm that will conduct a survey, and based on the results, the French Development Agency (AFD) intends to provide part of the funds for the reconstruction.
In turn, Minister Thang supported this decision, expressing his endorsement of the initiative. He called on French businesses to collaborate in developing railroad routes, border crossings, and economic hubs.
