IndiGo Expands Daily Flights from Delhi to Central Asia
Starting August 16, 2024, IndiGo will significantly increase its flight services from Delhi to Almaty and Tbilisi, with Tashkent following on August 17, 2024, in response to the surge in international travel demand. These routes, which initially had fewer flights per week, will now be served daily.
Since launching flights to Tashkent, Almaty, and Tbilisi in 2023, IndiGo has expanded its international network to enhance trade, tourism, and connectivity between India and Central Asia. This new schedule will offer passengers more frequent travel options to these destinations, along with daily flights to Baku.
Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, stated, "We are pleased to announce additional flights to Tashkent, Almaty, and Tbilisi from Delhi. These new flights address the increasing demand for outbound and leisure travel to these destinations, reaffirming IndiGo's commitment to connecting people and places."
Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s capital, features a rich cultural landscape with museums like the State Museum of History and the Amir Timur Museum, and landmarks such as the Tashkent Tower and Chorsu Bazaar.
Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city, is known for its mix of urban and natural attractions, including the Medeu Ice-skating Rink and Shymbulak Ski Resort. It also serves as a key economic hub in Central Asia.
Tbilisi, Georgia’s capital, offers a blend of historical and modern attractions. Highlights include the Narikala Fortress, the historic Old Town with its sulphur baths, and the Holy Trinity Cathedral, contributing to its status as a cultural and economic center.
IndiGo's expanded services are set to enhance connectivity and travel experiences, supporting increased tourism and economic interaction between India and Central Asia.
