ITA Airways Introduces Nonstop Flights from Rome to Dubai
Starting October 27th, ITA Airways will launch a new daily nonstop flight connecting Rome Fiumicino to Dubai. This announcement marks the airline's first new route for the 2024/2025 winter season and aims to boost travel and trade between Italy and the United Arab Emirates.
The new Rome-Dubai route will be operated by ITA Airways' latest Airbus A321neo, which features three separate cabins and advanced amenities to ensure a comfortable travel experience. The flights are set to depart from Rome at 10:40 a.m. and arrive in Dubai at 7:50 p.m., while the return leg will depart Dubai at 1:50 a.m., arriving in Rome at 6:00 a.m.
The introduction of this route is part of ITA Airways' broader strategy to expand its intercontinental network and enhance its role in the global air transport market. In the first four months of 2024, ITA Airways saw a 29% increase in passenger numbers and a 38% rise in revenue compared to the same period in 2023. These positive trends underscore the airline's robust growth and strategic focus.
President of ITA Airways, Antonino Turicchi, highlighted the company's recent achievements, noting a 99.9% operational regularity and an on-time arrival rate of approximately 85%. He emphasized that the new route will not only cater to direct traffic but also provide connections to a variety of domestic and international destinations from Rome Fiumicino.
The new Airbus A321neo aircraft, which will service this route, is designed to offer an exceptional travel experience. It boasts a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and features Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins. Passengers will enjoy state-of-the-art entertainment systems with 4K resolution touchscreens, comfortable seating, and enhanced interior design.
With the addition of the Rome-Dubai route, ITA Airways continues to expand its network, which currently includes 57 destinations—16 domestic, 26 international, and 15 intercontinental. This move follows recent inaugurations of direct flights from Rome to Chicago and Toronto, with upcoming routes to Riyadh, Accra, Dakar, Kuwait City, and Jeddah.
