ITA Airways Launches Direct Flights to Saudi Arabia
ITA Airways has launched its new nonstop flight from Rome Fiumicino to Riyadh, marking a significant milestone in the airline's expansion into the Middle East. The inaugural flight was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Terminal E of Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Fiumicino.
The new route is part of ITA Airways' strategic expansion into the Middle East, with a focus on enhancing trade and tourism flows between Italy and Saudi Arabia. The airline aims to further develop the tourism sector and increase visitor numbers from Italy and beyond to Saudi Arabia.
The new direct connection operates five times a week, departing Riyadh daily except Wednesdays and Sundays at 1:45 a.m. and arriving in Rome Fiumicino at 6:35 a.m. The return flight departs Rome Fiumicino daily except Tuesdays and Saturdays at 3:25 p.m. and arrives in Riyadh at 9:25 p.m.
The Airbus A321neo aircraft used for the new route features the latest-generation seats, entertainment system, and cabin design, providing passengers with a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience. The aircraft also boasts improved fuel efficiency and reduced noise impact compared to previous generation aircraft.
The expansion of ITA Airways' routes to Accra and Dakar will bring the total number of destinations operated in the 2024 summer season to 57, including 16 domestic, 26 international, and 15 intercontinental.
