ITA Airways Launches Status Match Program with 10,000 Bonus Points for Global Frequent Flyers
ITA Airways, the national airline of Italy, has announced a new offer for frequent flyers from 19 airline loyalty programs worldwide. The offer, valid until August 19, 2024, allows members to match their existing elite status and earn 10,000 bonus points upon successful application. The promotion is available to Volare members residing outside Italy who have not participated in previous Status Match campaigns.
This initiative by ITA Airways is designed to attract international travelers to its Volare frequent flyer program, which is part of the SkyTeam Alliance. To participate, applicants must provide their existing loyalty program details, a photo of their current loyalty card, and a valid identity document through the Volare personal area. Successful applicants will see their new status and digital card recognized by ITA Airways within 60 days of submission.
The Volare program, established just over two years ago, has rapidly grown to 2.1 million members. It features four tiers: Club Smart, Club Plus, Club Premium, and Club Executive, each offering various perks such as extra baggage allowance, priority boarding, and dedicated customer service. The program emphasizes flexibility and simplicity in earning and spending points, with over 30 commercial partners across hospitality, mobility, and finance sectors.
In a recent development, the European Commission approved Lufthansa's purchase of ITA Airways, potentially leading to ITA's transition from SkyTeam to the Star Alliance. This move is part of ITA's strategy to enhance its international presence, which currently sees 36% of Volare members coming from abroad, with the USA, Brazil, France, and Argentina being the top markets.
ITA Airways' focus on international expansion and customer engagement through innovative offers like the status match and bonus points initiative aims to strengthen its position in the global aviation market.
