JetBlue Expands Caribbean Network and Introduces Mint Service from Puerto Rico
JetBlue has announced a significant expansion of its network in Puerto Rico, further solidifying its position as the largest carrier on the island. Starting in October, the airline will launch new routes from San Juan, including direct flights to cities in the U.S. East Coast and Latin America.
JetBlue is also making a notable addition to its offerings by introducing its premium Mint experience on flights from San Juan to New York's JFK airport starting in July. This service will feature lie-flat seats and an elevated dining experience, marking the first time such luxury accommodations are available on flights from Puerto Rico.
Marty St. George, president of JetBlue, expressed excitement about deepening the airline's roots in the Puerto Rican community. He emphasized the importance of the new services in strengthening JetBlue’s relationships and presence in the region.
In addition to the new routes from San Juan, JetBlue is expanding its Mint service to other destinations including Phoenix and Vancouver, enhancing its premium offerings and reaffirming its commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Moreover, the airline has announced three new Caribbean destinations, further expanding its reach in the region. This includes the introduction of flights from New York to the pristine locations of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Bonaire, as well as the resumption of daily service to St. Croix from San Juan.
These strategic moves are part of JetBlue’s broader effort to adapt its flying strategy to focus on leisure and visiting friends and relatives (VFR) routes with strong customer demand.
