JetBlue Introduces Free Carry-On Bag for Blue Basic Fare
Starting September 6, 2024, JetBlue will include a free carry-on bag for passengers flying on its Blue Basic fare, providing more value to budget-conscious travelers.
JetBlue announced that effective from September 6, 2024, passengers with Blue Basic tickets will be allowed to bring a carry-on bag at no extra cost, regardless of the ticket purchase date. Previously, this benefit was only available to passengers who selected higher fare options or purchased an Even More Space seat.
This change aims to make the Blue Basic fare more competitive and appealing to budget travelers. The new policy will also apply to all existing and future ticket holders of the Blue Basic fare.
JetBlue's President Marty St. George stated that the update is in response to customer preferences, emphasizing that carry-on bags are a significant aspect of the travel experience. However, passengers may still be required to check their carry-on at the gate if overhead bin space is limited, without additional charges.
JetBlue continues to offer various fare options, allowing passengers to choose services that best meet their needs, such as seat selection and boarding priorities. For more details on the fare options and baggage policies, passengers can visit JetBlue’s official website.
